Simvastatin is the generic name of the drug used to treat individuals with hyperlipidemia or elevated cholesterol blood level. This drug of choice is becoming popular among individuals who are overweight or suffering from heart-related conditions.  What’s alarming is this drug nowadays can be purchased like a normal over-the-counter drug or without prescription at all which is by the way dangerous. More often than not when you consult with doctors and other health care providers regarding hyperlipidemia they often think about putting you under simvastatin medication. Nothing’s wrong with that except if you are not cautious enough you might be putting yourself at a greater risk. Remember in the hospital you won’t be advised about all of the possible simvastatin side effects and different details of the drug you are taking. You will only be taught how to take the drug, when to take it, basic things to avoid during the treatment and the time for you to be back to the clinic (after a few days or so).
